Forster is a Subject Matter Expert for the NCCCO and involved in the development of the new CCO Certification for riggers and signalpersons. We are proud to have Forster on our instructor team. Patrick Carruthers, HEO instructor, will be attending Focus Four Safety Training September 14 provided by the Association of General Contractors. The Oklahoma College of Construction (OCC) held an open house for its new training facilities on October 12. It was a huge success. Over 130 guests attended the event, including dozens of vendors, career counselors, contractors, potential students, and local residents. Some of the visitors came from other states.
Success came because of the OCC staff. Admissions specialists took turns giving walk through tours of the facility. Instructors were available in each program level classroom to explain specific training objectives of each program level. Our “social butterfly” instructors, Troy Rouse and Scott Paul, served as tour guides on shuttle buses to the field training site and did a fantastic job of explaining the field site and various projects covered in each program level.
Those who came now know what the OCC is and why it is here. We were able to share some history of the OCC, as well its present goals and objectives, with all of those who attended.
